On the July 12 2019, CERANEO organized presentation of the Comparative Social Profile of the City of Zagreb for 2017 and 2018 titled “Challenges of implementing the guidelines of the European Pillar of Social Rights in the City of Zagreb”. The Social Profile is a document prepared by the Social Council of the City of Zagreb and CERANEO. This year, for the first time, CERANEO prepared a Comparative Social Profile of the City of Zagreb for both 2017 and 2018, with the aim of comparing the city’s social development trends according to nine areas: population, households and family, housing, upbringing and education, employment and unemployment, economic indicators , health care, social welfare programs and co-financing of projects and programs. Based on the available data, all nine areas are observed within the framework of international and European concepts, directives and recommendations with reference to the context of national policies and the Social Plan of the City of Zagreb for the period from 2014 to 2020.
In the opening presentation, Gojko Bežovan, Ph.D. full professor gave a broad overview of European guidelines and recommendations that were observed in the framework of the Comparative Social Profile of the City of Zagreb for 2017 and 2018.
Key trends within the observed nine areas were presented by Iva Mrdeža from CERANEO. In her presentation, she referred to the detected challenges and presented the key topics of the chapter, which were dealt with within the framework of the European Pillar of Social Rights.
