And where are you? Reactivation and reintegration of inactive youth in NEET status

Croatia ranks highest in terms of the proportion of young people in NEET status, according to the latest EUROSTAT data. Most of the time, this group of young people does not learn so-called soft skills from their parents or in school, despite the fact that they are crucial for social inclusion, particularly given the current economic climate.

As a crucial commitment to start the process of youth reactivation and reintegration, the project will strengthen the soft and transversal skills of inactive young people in NEET status. The participants will also receive information about the labour market and will be enrolled in verified adult educational programs in accordance with their interest, competences and prior education.

According to experts, young people are not properly informed about their rights or their possibilities on the labour market. They also emphasize the need for more focused/specific education that would enable young people to recognize their contribution to their own employment, regardless of whether it relates to skills or is focused on jobs that are in demand on the labour market. The project′s purpose and activities that will help it be realized are both determined based on the needs that were discovered. The aim of the project is to enable inactive NEET young people from the City of Zagreb and Istria County to access and actively participate in the labour market.
