  • News

On the 5th of June 2023, the regional education “Challenges of the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights in the Krapina-Zagorje County” was held in cooperation with a partner operating in the area of the county – the Network of Associations Zagor.

We presented the project “Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations in the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia” through which the training was held. We presented the results of the project so far – the methodology for monitoring the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia, the revised Social Scoreboard and the Croatian Social Profile. All of the above is a pledge for the work at the regional level and can encourage participants to advocate at the local level. We presented the possibilities of the ESF plus, the European Semester and examples of good practice in monitoring social indicators.

For further work at the local level, we introduced participants to existing indicators in the area of equal opportunities and access to the labor market, fair working conditions, and social protection and inclusion. In order to encourage the participants, a workshop “Encouraging discussion and insight into local ESSP implementation capacities: stakeholders’ experiences” was organized. The goal of the workshop was to gain insight into the experiences of local stakeholders regarding the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights in Krapina-Zagorje County.

Through education, the potential of the Krapina-Zagorje County in the implementation of the ESSP was determined. The civil sector stood out as a driver of change and social innovation. However, an additional institutional effort is needed in order to support the civil sector.

Project “Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations in the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia” benefits from a grant under the Active Citizens Fund from Iceland, Liechtenstein an Norway through the EEA Grants.
